Session Description

In August 2024, NIST published the first three post-quantum cryptographic standards, and work continues additional standards needed to protect against future quantum computers. Then, in 2025, NIST publishes deadlines to Deprecate Legacy Encryption Algorithms. NIST sets key deadlines for retiring legacy encryption algorithms, with widely used algorithms like RSA, ECDSA, EdDSA, DH, and ECDH set for deprecation by 2030 and by 2035, those algorithms are any longer allowed to use.

The conference will bring together stakeholders from academia, industry, and government - including submission teams from the candidates under evaluation - for in-depth discussions and collaborative engagement. As part of this event, we aim to foster a workshop-like atmosphere to support the ongoing development of PQC Implementation and we would like to resolve questions like:

  • Which cryptographic algorithms will be no longer secure or obsolete,
  • How the deprecation of the crypto algorithm will affect the telco industry.
  • How NIST is developing standards for quantum-resistant algorithms
