- $7.6 trillion contributed by mobile to global GDP in 2025 (6.4%)
- $11.3 trillion projected by 2030 (8.4% of GDP)
- 50 million jobs worldwide supported by the mobile ecosystem
- Over 3 billion people remain unconnected despite 96% living within mobile broadband coverage
Starlink and Deutsche Telekom: Europe’s first direct satellite-to-smartphone service
Deutsche Telekom and Starlink announced the delivery of Europe’s first satellite-to-mobile service using Starlink’s V2 constellation and MSS spectrum, launching early 2028 across 10 European markets.
Vodafone Satellite Connect Europe: open access for 10 European markets
Orange and Telefónica signed on to Vodafone’s Satellite Connect Europe open access company, allowing access to satellite operations based in Europe.
GSMA Foundry and ESA: €100 million for space-mobile convergence
