At previous events we would use your passport or EU national ID card to check your identitywhen you collected your badge. Now that we have removed badges and registration desks, we have moved this check online and into the registration process.
We will take the image from your passport and use biometric tokens to match this against a photo that we will take of you during the registration process. For further information on our use of facial recognition technology, click here
If you use the fast track option with our facial recognition tool (BREEZ), your ID check will be instant. If you choose the standard option, this will be processed by our contact centre but may take a number of days dependent on volumes
This year we require all attendees to upload an image of their ID. For passports you only need to have an image of the photo and personal details page. For EU national ID cards you will require 2 images, one of the front of the card and one of the back. If the back is blank, please upload the front image twice.
No. We no longer have registration facilities onsite and all attendees must be registered before they arrive.
If, for some reason, your registration is not complete or you are registering for the first time, you will need to use your mobile device (and mobile data) to complete your registration. You should expect this process to take sometime as you will need to undergo a photo & ID check as well as take a rapid test.
You can only register in full for your own pass. Please use the Group Registration function for purchasing / using a code to start the registration process for another person. All attendees MUST log into their account and provide the mandatory personal information required – photo and ID submission. Attendees will be refused entry to the event if this information has not been provided, and verified before they arrive at the venue.
Only passports or EU national ID cards are accepted to complete your registration
Attendees who do not provide their identification will not be able to complete their registration, access their Digital Badge or enter MWC.
The minimum age to attend MWC is 16 years of age.

The registration system remains open throughout the event, however ALL attendees need to have their identity checked before arriving at the venue and processing times vary. To avoid any issues, please make sure that you have completed your registration and had your ID checked before you arrive. Your registration account will clearly display whether you have completed all mandatory information and are ready to enter the venue.
Your attendees will receive instructions on how to access their account and submit this information. When they first log in, they will be asked to add in some further personal information and then will be taken to the ID submission page.
To apply for a Press / Industry Analyst pass please visit the Press Zone first to check our application criteria. Then select the Apply Now button at the bottom of the registration website.
The Press Team is reviewing your accreditation request and they will respond to you shortly to advise if you have been approved. Please be aware that this process can take up to a week to be completed.

Please read the information here to understand whether you need a Visa to enter Spain. In addition to these general entry requirements, there are additional measures in place due to Covid-19. Specific Covid-19 travel information is available here.
The visa support letter is now called Attendance Confirmation letter. We have changed this to allow all attendees to be able to travel to the event even though travel to Spain is still restricted. If you would normally need a visa to enter Spain, you should still follow the same process. You will be asked when you fill in your Attendance Confirmation information if you require a visa.
All individuals participating in the event from outside of the European Union and Schengen Area must follow this process to facilitate entry into Spain:
Complete your online registration for the event using the MWC21 Barcelona Registration System;
For MWC21, we are providing all attendees with an Attendance Confirmation to assist with business travel into Spain. Information will be collected during the registration process of the country you will be travelling from. If in addition to this travel documentation you also require a letter to support your visa application, you will be given the opportunity to select that at the same time. There is some additional information that you are required to submit for your visa application.
Because GSMA Ltd. is a U.S. incorporated company, it is obliged to comply with trade sanctions that are imposed by the U.S. government. Those trade sanctions prohibit GSMA Ltd. from issuing an attendance confirmation / visa support letter to delegates from sanctioned countries. Please note that regardless of your registration, you will not be allowed access to MWC if you (individually) or the company you represent is subject to U.S. sanctions. Your Attendance Confirmation letter will be sent to your main email account as a PDF attachment after your registration is fully completed and any outstanding payment is settled. You can also access a copy via your registration account by clicking on Inbox from your home page. If you have selected for visa support, this information will be contained within the same letter.
As per our terms and conditions, GSMA will not provide hard copies of Attendance Confirmations / visa support letters.

We accept payment by American Express, MasterCard, or Visa.
Note Visa debit cards may not be accepted outside of the country of origin and/or your bank may decline large transaction amounts. For more information, contact your bank directly before attempting payment.
Payments will be accepted in Euros only.
This facility is only available for large payments (currently €5,000 incl. VAT) and will become automatically available in the system when you reach the payment stage.
The deadline for making payment is 11 June 2021. As there are no onsite facilities, payment must be made prior to this date. Registrations after this date must be paid for by credit card.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Cancellations, as well as ‘no shows’ will be liable for the full registration fee. Cancellation of travel and hotel reservations are the responsibility of the registrant. Please consult the event terms and conditions for full details.
E&P users with complimentary allocations should log into their account and check the registration status of the pass they wish to cancel. Please consult your E&P User Guide for further information.
If you received a complimentary pass or purchased a pass from an Exhibitor or Partner, cancellation or substitution may be at their discretion. Contact the Exhibitor or Partner for more information.

Downgrades of passes are permitted but will still be liable for the FULL registration fee of the original pass purchased. Our event terms and conditions cancellation section has further detail.
Please email [email protected] specifying precisely what details would you like to change and how would you like them to appear on the invoice. Once received, we will proceed with the modification as soon as possible.
The GSMA does not promote a tax compliance and recovery service for MWC. This is due to differing standards of service and delivery available to different attendees and exhibitors in different countries. You may wish to undertake a search in your country for a reputable service provider and/or engage with your accounts or auditors for a recommendation specific to your organisation and country.

We are committed to ensuring the safety of Mobile World Congress attendees, both at the venue (Fira Gran Via) and offsite as they visit the city of Barcelona. As part of our overall venue and citywide security plan, we work with the Mossos d´Esquadra to identify and address possible security threats. Collecting attendee identification is one means to enhance our overall security plan and improve attendee security.
No, ID collection was introduced at MWC16 to ensure the safety of MWC attendees.
ID information is collected from the scanned image that you have uploaded into your registration account. The data is extracted from the MRZ code on your passport or EU national ID card. This data is encrypted and securely transferred to a server and will only be retained for the period prior to, during and shortly after the event – unless you have given us your explicit consent to retain this information for future events.
All attendees are required to provide this information prior to arrival at the venue.
By opting to retain your ID information, if you return to the event the following year, this information will already be in your account making it quicker and easier to complete future registrations.
We utilise industry-recognised encryption within the systems that collect personal data. Additionally, the GSMA and Fira have commissioned a third-party penetration test and systems audit to ensure the security of personal information.
We are no longer providing physical event badges and have removed all of our registration services onsite.
All attendees will be required to have a Digital Badge which is accessed via the My MWC event app.
The Digital Badge will replace the printed badge that you would have received at previous events. It contains the same information as a badge and includes a photo and QR code. It will be available in the My MWC event app nearer the event and we will send out instructions prior to the start of the event on how to access it.
All attendees will need to show their Digital Badge on arrival at the venue perimeter.
Once you have downloaded the event app, please login using the same username and password that you use to access your registration account.
Yes – the Digital Badge can be used from the commencement of the build period (16 June) onwards as long as your pass type has Extended Hours. This is shown with a µ symbol.
Extended Hours provides access for the exhibitors to the venue outside of event hours. Full details on Extended Hours dates and times are available in the Online Event Manual.
The following pass types have Extended Hours access:
Exhibitor / Partner Staff and Exhibitor Contractor passes have Extended Hours access and can be used from the start of the build period through the end of the dismantle period (16 June to 6 July 2021)
Wristbands are no longer being issued and all persons who need access during the build-up and dismantling period will need to apply through the Contractor Accreditation System. Service providers (contractors) will be given an account via their exhibiting company in order to register their staff.

If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it by visiting the registration website, clicking on the ‘Sign In’ button and then the ‘Forgot Password’ link. After following the instructions, you will receive an email with information on how to reset your password.

There are many factors why emails may not be received and is probably down to the individual mail server settings or the spam filtering used by your company. Please check your spam folder and contact the IT department of your company to ask them to whitelist [email protected]
A valid email address is required to register for MWC21. If you do not use a valid address, you will NOT receive any invitations, confirmation of your registration, visa support letters, password recovery and other important registration emails.
If you wish to manage other emails that the GSMA may send to you, please access the Email Preference Centre to manage your opt-in choices.
All attendees are required to provide an e-mail address to complete their registration. We use the email address to create your account and send you confirmation of your registration as well as other important registration information.
You can opt to add an additional email address during the registration process or you can log back into your registration account and ‘Update your personal details’
You will receive copies of your registration emails (EXCEPT password reset or Attendance Confirmation letter) to this additional address.
If any of your information has changed, you can log back into your registration account and edit ‘My Details’. Please note that you will not be able to change your email address or your First Name / Last Name but will need to email our Contact Centre at [email protected]
At the beginning of the registration process, you can link your accounts by clicking on the ‘Sign in with LinkedIn’ button. Please note: if you have been sent an invitation to register, you MUST use the same email address on the invite as this is linked to your complimentary pass.
If you already have a registration account, you will be able to link to your LinkedIn account from your account home page.
If you do not remember your LinkedIn password, select the “Forgot password” option from Linkedin and follow the steps.
Of course, you are not required to have a LinkedIn account to register. You can skip the LinkedIn button and continue through the rest of the registration steps.
You can unsubscribe from GSMA emails here. You will still receive all emails relating to your registration.
The Digital Badge is available in the My MWC event app from 14 June for Extended Hours pass holders (exhibitors & contractors) and 24 June for everyone else
The Digital Badge when active will be a full screen view with your photo, a QR code and your pass details on it.

Yes, if you are attending any conference sessions you will need to scan your Digital Badge for entry. Your Digital Badge is also used for lead retrieval and track and trace.
Yes, in order to open your Digital Badge, you will need to submit your Health Declaration every day.
Yes, the Health Declaration only covers one day and so you need to resubmit for every day.

The health declaration will appear in the Digital Badge once your test results have been verified. Read the statement and check the tick box at the bottom of the page to enable and press the Submit button
Please check whether your test is still valid. Your test must be valid for the full event day that you are attending. Please also resbumit your Health Declaration.
You will need to charge your phone and ensure you can access the Digital Badge before you can enter the venue.
You will need to use a replacement device or tablet to display your Digital Badge
It is possible but will depend on how badly broken your screen is. You can enrol into our BREEZ programme that will give you touchless access using facial recognition. Log into your registration account and click on Enrol in BREEZ.
Wi-Fi will be available in select areas around the venue but in some external access areas you will be required to have a data plan to access the app and your Digital Badge
The app is available via the Play Store, App Store and Huawei App Gallery
Your login details are the same details that you used to register. If you have forgotten your password, please go to the registration website and follow the instructions to reset your password via the login button
If you are unable to download the app from any of the available stores, you can access a Digital Badge in your registration account. However if you can download the app, please do so.
