Session Description

At MWC Barcelona 2026, the GSMA Open Gateway Summit will evaluate the progress of GSMA Open Gateway as it enters it’s third year and ask what still needs to be done to accelerate adoption of network APIs within the industry. A key focus of the summit will be the evolution of the network API ecosystem including the role of mobile network operators, aggregators, channel partners and developers in driving the adoption of standardised network APIs.

What role have other industry organisations played in expanding the scope of network APIs from service APIs to operate APIs and from mobile only to converged networks?

This year’s summit explores:

  • Why GSMA Open Gateway was formed, its evolution and future role in helping you drive network API adoption?
  • Who are the leading innovators incorporating 5G network capabilities into new commercial services, and what can you learn from them in your own deployments?
  • What is the role of aggregators and channel partners in the network API value chain and what more needs to be done to develop API marketplaces and viable business models to support you?
  • How are we engaging with developer communities and what else do we need to do in terms of education and support to better engage that community to accelerate adoption
  • Which industries recognise the ability of network APIs to solve their real-world business problems and how do we leverage the early adopters to cross the chasm to create profitable new revenue streams?

Through a series of panel discussions, real-world showcases and presentations, the summit will explore successful network API innovations across the globe. Attendees will gain actionable insights into industry best-practice, implementation strategies, the adoptions of more-advanced APIs that support network programmability and how the end-to-end ecosystem can be used to monetise 5G networks, enabling them to enhance their own plans for investment and implementation.

Join global network leaders, innovators, and mobile networks architects to understand how Open Gateway and network APIs are creating new enterprise revenue streams and solving real-world industry problems.

Sherlock was built to unlock the massive potential of Network Authentication
Sherlock was built to unlock the massive potential of Network Authentication

"Sherlock was built to unlock the massive potential of Network Authentication in full compliance with GSMA Open Gateway and the CAMARA project. Partnering with MNOs globally, we’re setting a new benchmark for what secure, silent authentication can achieve for millions of consumers. This is about more than preventing fraud - it’s about creating a global identity layer rooted in mobile networks."
