Managing Partner, Majority

Speaker Bio

Hanisha Vaswani is an impact investor, helping promising early stage startups change their trajectories. She’s the founder of Majority – a deeptech impact fund. Majority invests in scalable, profit-oriented companies that improve the livelihoods of people living on under US $ 6 a day. Majority’s first investments have been in EV Analytics, SpaceTech, and Fintech.

She believes that startups grow best by building brands that outsmart much bigger competitors - while not necessarily outspending them. So if you're sending her a pitch deck where 50% of the fundraise will be used in media spends, think again!

Hanisha was previously the Asia Pacific ICT4D (Information and Communication Technology for Development) specialist for the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD); and led sourcing at the UN World Food Programme Innovation Accelerator in Munich where she invested in over 25 startups worldwide across SpaceTech, Livelihoods, Emergency Response, Supply Chain, Nutrition, FinTech, and agTech.

Prior to her UN stints, Hanisha built and ran scalable businesses as a Product Manager and Digital Marketer at MakeMyTrip, Edelman Digital, Airtel Money, and TataCLiQ.

She's helped build digital strategies for brands like HP, GE, PwC, Sun Microsystems, Blackberry, and MakeMyTrip, to name a few.
