Speaker Bio
Ryan is Caban’s chief investment officer and president of Caban Energy. In his role, Ryan leads the investment activities and capital formation strategies. He is also responsible for Caban’s Energy as a Service platform. Ryan is a senior investment professional specializing in infrastructure investments, with significant experience in M&A, investment oversight and asset management. Prior to joining Caban, he led private markets investments for a large Canadian pension fund. In that role, Ryan was responsible for a wide range of investments, including direct investments and co-investments in infrastructure, private equity and private debt.
Since 2016, Ryan has served on the boards of a number of private companies. He currently sits on the boards of a Texas based infrastructure company and an energy transition-focused platform. Before Caban, he was responsible for sourcing, structuring and executing over $1 billion of investments in the energy transition, renewable energy and digital infrastructure sectors. Ryan has a Bachelor Degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Alberta. He also holds a designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
