In 2022, Rafael de Fermín was appointed to lead Nokia’s Network Infrastructure business in Europe, in charge of all IP, Optical and Fixed Networks in the region.
Over his career in the industry, Rafael has been involved in multiple responsibilities, mostly linked to Telecom Networking, while living in the UK, the US, Belgium and Spain.
Prior to his current position, he led the IP/Optics Networks team for Nokia in Europe and EMEA, as well as the EMEA Global Customer Delivery and Presales teams for Alcatel-Lucent. Before that, he spent five years working for the Access Business Division in Alcatel, in charge of the Regional Support Centers for different geographies (including Europe, Middle East, Africa, India and Latin America). He held pre- and post-sales responsibilities for the Division in those
geographies.
His earlier jobs with Alcatel include General Management of the Fixed Networks Division for Iberia, and several positions in R&D and PLM.
