Speaker Bio
Estrella began her "scientific odyssey" at the University of Navarra, Spain, were she gained a PhD in Genetic Toxicology. Right after she held a post-doctoral position at ICI (now AZ) in Macclesfield, UK. Subsequently Estrella joint Almirall as Clinical Research Scientist. Since them she has amassed 31 year carreer with the company, taking on roles of increasing demand and responsility on planning and managing clinical trials world wide.
Since Almirall is outsourcing clinical trials, she has work with dozens of CROs and other service providers managing Phase I to Phase IV interventional clinical trials, involving hundreds of investigational sites and thousands of subjects. Her responsibility is covering the selection, negotiation, contracting and management the CROs, aiming to deliver the study on time, on budget and on quality.
She has been involved in the development of products world wide like antihistamines, antimigrain drugs, in the respiratory field, and now since 2016 fully focus on Medical Dermatology, like Atopic Dermatitis, Aktinic Keratosis, Psoriasis, Acne, and other inmunoinflamatories diseases.
