Mr. Bonet is the co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Fractus since 1999, a deep tech company created in Barcelona as a spin-off of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, specialized in global wireless and telecom industries, named a Technology Pioneer in 2005 by the World Economic Forum.
Fractus is one of the most successful Catalan Deep Tech startups, today a corporation, having accomplished almost all the needed ingredients to successfully develop and commercialize deep tech technology, generating hundreds of millions of revenues. In summary, Fractus is an early pioneer in the development of wireless technology, with a demonstrated track record of licensing their extensive global patent portfolio. Mr. Bonet has been always leading Fractus’ strategy and execution.
Under Mr. Bonet’s leadership, Fractus has successfully licensed their technology to the largest mobile handset and network infrastructure manufacturers. He is also founding Partner and member of the Investment Committee of Abac Nest, a Barcelona-based seed capital investment fund. Abac Nest was founded in 2017 and has invested seed venture capital in several projects. Mr. Bonet is also founding investor at Ignion and Stage2.
In 2016 Mr. Bonet was appointed SME Chairman and Board Member of IP Europe, representing European SMEs. IP Europe is a coalition of European innovators advocating for policies to incentivize investments for the creation of new technologies and businesses, located in Brussels. Mr. Bonet has an MSc in Telecommunications Engineering and an MBA from the IESE Business School. Recently, he published the book “Fractus, el ave fénix”, describing his entrepreneurship and management journey.
