Hiroshi Yoshida was appointed as Vice-Minister for Policy Coordination (International Affairs) in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) in June 2022. In this capacity, he leads MIC’s international policy operation and represents the Ministry at international fora.
During more than 30 years of experience as a government official, Vice-Minister Yoshida has served many important roles related to telecommunications and broadcasting policy. Prior to his current position, he served as Director-General of the Information and Communications Policy Bureau. His career also includes the positions of Deputy Director-General of the Information and Communications Policy Bureau (MIC), Deputy Director-General for IT Strategy in the Commerce and Information Policy Bureau (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), Counselor of the Global ICT Strategy Bureau (MIC), Director of the Telecommunications Policy Division (MIC), and Director of the Terrestrial Broadcasting Division (MIC).
