Miguel Sánchez was born in Madrid 1960. After his secondary studies, he spent five years in the Spanish Military Academy to be graduated as Lieutenant in July 1982. Later on, he reached the grade of Colonel, Special Services, in November 2009.
In 1994-95 he attended the Centre d´Etudes Diplomatiques et Stratégiques in Paris (France) obtaining its Superior Diploma in these studies.
After several positions in the Army and the Royal Guard, he joined the civil service at the Ministries of Defense and Presidency, where he had carried out responsibilities as Director for Maghreb, Middle East, Counterterrorism, Latam, Asian, European and Cyber threats.
He also served abroad, as Embassy Counselor in the UK and France.
In 2016 he joined Telefónica as Global Chief Security and Intelligence Officer (GCSIO).
