Speaker Bio
Javier Megias is a seasoned investor and entrepreneur with a strong tech background and over 15 years of experience in venture capital, corporate venturing, and deep tech startups. Having co-founded two startups himself and possessing a strong & AI tech background, he is an experienced operator who brings a hands-on approach to investing. As an optimist, Javier believes in the transformative power of technology to create opportunities and change lives, especially AI.
With this vision, he has been investing in and supporting companies in several ways, first as an angel investor, then through investment syndicates, and in his most recent position as a venture capitalist through Bankinter VC.
Currently, Javier holds the position of Managing Partner for the EMEA Funds at Plug and Play Tech Center. He focuses on identifying new investment opportunities, managing the VC strategy in the region, and reinforcing the firm's European expansion. He is also the Managing Partner for the Pioneer AI fund.
