Speaker Bio
Jeroen Scheer leads, guides and architects the Digital Innovation & Power Technologies journeys at Shell. He joined Shell in May 2019. Jeroen has been active in the energy industry for more than 23 years and is considered as one of the core digital leaders and architects managing the transition of the energy sector and the grid in a transition that brings a very complex ecosystem from a rather mechanical entity in the age of digital, while in the meantime embracing and facilitating the full scope of the energy transition.
Jeroen shows his passion, creativity and long-year experience to accelerate the energy transition by linking digitization, customers, technology, market dynamics and the energy system of the future in such a way that everyone can use energy in a reliable, cost-effective and sustainable manner. Jeroen is a well-sought after keynote speaker on many conferences throughout the world. Besides, he presides several international standardization bodies, and is lecturer at several universities on the topic energy transition and digitalization.
Before joining Shell in May 2019, Jeroen led the Digital Innovation journey at TetraPak, and before that at Alliander, the Dutch leading energy company, in his double-hatted role of CTO and Head of Digital Innovation and Business Models. In that role he catalysed several international standards, including eMobility and Virtual Power Plants. His heart lies in the energy industry, with a career at many international energy companies (a.o. Vattenfall, Nuon, Eneco, Essent/E.on), in various leading roles as CTO and CDO guiding entire digital landscapes. In 2021 he was awarded with the Mad33 ‘Make A Difference’, a global award for people making a real impactful difference.
