GSMA MWC27 Barcelona countdown begins, with new dedicated technology spaces for automotive, health and aviation

1 October 2026, London: GSMA MWC27 Barcelona will return to Fira Gran Via from 1-4 March 2027, as the GSMA reveals a host of exciting event updates.

MWC27 will bring together the companies shaping real-world change through connectivity, cloud, AI and data infrastructure, in one venue. New exhibitors joining the MWC show floor include AWS, ElevenLabs and HP Inc, with more to come; while returning exhibitors with expanded booths include Agibot, KDDI, Nokia and Unitree.

New for next year, MWC27 will host three dedicated spaces for attendees to witness first-hand the cutting-edge innovations at the forefront of automotive, health, and aviation. Each zone will highlight the intelligent connectivity enabling transformation and offer a rare glimpse into the emerging technologies and breakthrough ideas set to reshape the future of business and society. The three new zones will put real-world use cases directly alongside frontier innovation, creating a unique space for industry leaders, key ecosystem stakeholders and the wider connectivity community to meet, debate, and do business.

MWC27 will feature technology showcases focused on frontier AI, robotics and non-terrestrial network (NTN) satellite connectivity and will see the return of New Frontiers to Hall 6. Other returning favourites for MWC27 include leading startup event 4YFN, Talent Arena co-located in Fira de Barcelona Montjuïc, Sports Tomorrow Congress and the GSMA Ministerial Programme, the world's leading gathering of policymakers and industry leaders shaping the future of mobile and digital policy.

Across the rest of the show floor – from keynotes and specialist summits to conference sessions and hands-on demos – the MWC27 programme will explore the pressing trends and thought leadership themes currently defining the world's technology agenda. These topics will capture how connectivity and emerging technologies are transforming business and society, for instance:

  • Networks Reinvented: How networks are evolving from background infrastructure into an active driver of competitive edge, industrial capability and national resilience.
  • AI in Action: Through case studies, field reports and candid conversations, the unfiltered story of what it really takes to move AI from pilot to production at scale.
  • Autonomous Enterprise: How agentic AI and intelligent automation are turning businesses into organisations that can sense, decide and act in real time.
  • AI of Tomorrow: The breakthrough AI technologies – including agentic, quantum and sovereign AI – alongside the security, ethics and governance behind them, set to define AI's next era.
  • Trust at Scale: Why trust, security and sovereignty need to be built into every layer of the digital economy, and how we can build digital systems made to scale and protect long-term success.
  • The Next Era: The frontier technologies, from space-borne networks to next-gen interfaces, poised to redraw industry boundaries and spark partnerships that will define the next decade.

Sianne Ryder, CEO, Events and Industry Services, GSMA Ltd., said: “As the world's biggest and most influential connectivity event, MWC27 is a unique gathering place for the global technology community. It unites the world's leading voices on connectivity and digital transformation for a week-long conversation about the ideas, people and partnerships powering tomorrow's connected future. If you haven’t yet booked your exhibition stand, or applied to be a speaker, now’s the time to.”
