Carlos currently serves as the Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO) of Telefonica IoT&BigData TECH, overseeing IoT verticals, platform software factory, technology, and global operations.
With over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Carlos began his career at Telefónica Móviles in 1995, coinciding with the emergence of the mobile industry. In his early years at Telefónica, he spearheaded the launch of new products in intelligent networks, mobile internet, financial services, and mobile advertising. He later transitioned to Telefónica onthespot as the Director of Technology and Operations, also serving as a member of the steering committee.
In 2015, Carlos assumed the role of Global Director for IoT Platforms & Technology, where he played a pivotal role in driving innovation and strategy in the IoT space. Subsequently, in 2019, he was appointed as the CTO for IoT & Big Data, further solidifying his expertise in these domains. Since 2023, he has held his current position, leading Telefonica Tech's IoT initiatives with a focus on technological advancement and global impact.
