Information
Phoenix Systems sp. z o.o. is a high-tech company developing Phoenix-RTOS, an open-source, scalable real-time operating system for Edge-IoT. A member of the Atende group, the company employs about 40 skilled software engineers across three offices: Warsaw, Łomża (PL), and Bristol (UK).
Phoenix-RTOS was initiated at Warsaw University of Technology in 2001. It’s widely used in IoT devices, especially in the energy sector, with over 1.1 million devices already manufactured or in production, including smart gas meters, smart energy meters and data concentrators. This number does not include projects based on the system available as open-source, implemented by other companies. The system’s source code is available on GitHub (https://github.com/phoenix-rtos) and includes a microkernel, system libraries, device drivers, communication stacks, and development tools.
Phoenix-RTOS supports a variety of hardware architectures, including ARM Cortex-M, ARM Cortex-A, Intel x86, RISC-V, and others. It has been widely implemented in Belgium and Poland.
