Session Description
As governments pursue digital transformation agendas, leveraging digital technology has become central to strengthening domestic revenue mobilisation. Across countries, GovTech solutions are showing how digitalisation can enhance tax compliance, reduce leakages and administrative costs through greater efficiency and transparency, and broaden the tax base by formalising economies. However, achieving these outcomes depends on broad and reliable connectivity. Strong digital networks and affordable access underpin digital payments and inclusive participation in the formal economy. In this session, speakers will explore the relationship between digitalisation and fiscal resilience, examining how improved connectivity and GovTech innovations can empower governments to mobilise revenues more effectively and highlight the key enablers needed to realise this potential.
