Session Description
The transition beyond 5G towards the 6G era is already shaping spectrum policy decisions for the 2030s. 6 GHz will provide the capacity required by 2030, but the World Radiocommunication Conference in 2027 will look beyond this at the 4.5 GHz and 7-8 GHz bands. Countries are already developing their own spectrum roadmaps to ensure that planning is in place for capacity in the 2030s. A global average of 2-3 GHz per market will be required by 2035-2040 to support AI-native networks and new applications like XR, sensing and holographic communications. Is your country ready?
