Session Description
NTN outcomes are not predetermined. They are the direct result of architectural choices being made right now.
As non‑terrestrial networks scale toward critical infrastructure, architectural choices will determine whether NTN delivers resilience and broad access or fragments into a few closed, incompatible systems. An open, interoperable network can enable standards-based device connectivity, shared infrastructure economics, and global mobility at scale.
Using real‑world human use cases, this session illustrates how design decisions affect safety, continuity, inclusion, and cybersecurity. It also highlights the impediments that could derail this future, from proprietary architectures and single‑supplier dependencies to incompatible approaches across satellite operators, device makers, and MNOs.
