Adnan Al Muhairi is the Chief Technology Officer of Space Services at Space42. He leads the company’s technological vision, spearheading the design and development of next-generation satellite systems, multi-orbit connectivity platforms, and the integration of AI across geospatial and communication capabilities. He is also driving efforts to deliver innovative, secure, and cost-effective space-based solutions that expand access to SatCom in underserved regions and enable resilient government networks across critical domains.
Prior to his current role, Al Muhairi held several leadership positions at Yahsat (now merged with Bayanat to form Space42), where he was based in France for 3 years to manage the payload Engineering of the UAE’s first communications satellites, Al Yah 1 and Al Yah 2. He later served for 3.5 years in the USA as Program Director for Al Yah 3, which expanded Yahsat’s coverage to Brazil and reinforced the UAE’s position as a global SpaceTech player. He worked on the Falcon Eye imaging program design and contracting. He led the Thuraya-4 program with one of the largest L band satellites, which was successfully launched in January 2025. He also played a key role in the UAE’s first successful remote sensing missions- DubaiSat-1 and DubaiSat-2 developed in collaboration with South Korea.
In recognition of his contributions to the global space sector, Al Muhairi was recognized by the Space and Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) in 2020 as one of the ‘20 Under 35’ most promising professionals in the space and satellite industry worldwide. He was also the first Emirati male to receive this distinction.
Al Muhairi holds a Bachelor of Science in Avionics and Engineering Management from the Higher Colleges of Technology and an Executive MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.
