For most operators, the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) segment represents a difficult market to penetrate. While adjacent to consumer accounts in terms of scale, their requirements are more demanding. That scale, however, means they cannot be easily targeted – and sold to – in the same manner as larger businesses. And yet, SMEs make up the vast majority of companies worldwide, meaning it’s a customer segment that operators cannot afford to ignore...particularly as large enterprise revenue growth plateaus and operators look beyond connectivity for new sources of B2B value.
Against this backdrop, and despite strong SME satisfaction with core telecom services, most operators have struggled to translate that trust into revenue from advanced digital solutions. This demands some difficult questions.
- What do SMEs actually value, and where are operators misjudging what drives adoption and willingness to pay?
- Is the path to SME growth about building new services, or about rethinking how existing capabilities are packaged, priced, and delivered?
- And beyond the theory and potential opportunities, are there good examples of operators succeeding with the SME opportunity?
Join us as we bring together operators, enterprise specialists and the broader mobile ecosystem, informed by new IBM-GSMA research on SME digital demand, to discuss these questions and more.
