An essential reason for us being able to provide a safe environment at MWC22 is that all members of the MWC ecosystem will adhere to GSMA’s Committed Community health & safety programme. This initiative has been formulated in partnership with the applicable governmental authorities in Spain and is specifically designed for our event. It played a key role in the safe and successful running of MWC21 and has been updated further for this year’s event.
One of the fundamental principles which ensures the effectiveness of our Committed Community programme is its universal application – it is the prevailing and singular standard for health & safety at MWC22. As such, it is not possible for GSMA to endorse or facilitate any third-party operating its own COVID-19 health & safety protocols or testing programmes within the event venue itself.
We are of course supportive of any further measures which some clients may wish to take – such as additional testing during the event dates. However, in the interests of both prevailing health & safety standards to limit the spread of COVID-19, and the Committed Community programme, these tests must take place outside the event venue before attendees enter the event on any given day.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
According to current health regulations, wearing a face mask is not required for people who suffer from a respiratory condition which may be aggravated by wearing a face mask.
If this situation applies to you, please provide our medical partner, QuirónPrevención, at [email protected], with a health certificate from your doctor justifying mask wearing exemption given your health condition. Make sure you submit this certificate at least 48 hours prior to coming to the venue to ensure you are ready for access once onsite.
Our medical services partner will review it and, if applicable under Catalan health authorities’ protocols, will issue a face mask exemption certificate that you will need to carry with you to access MWC at all times whilst in the Fira Gran Via venue and exhibit when required.
Provided doctors’ certificate must be written in Spanish, English, French or German. If this is not possible, then it must be accompanied by a translation into Spanish carried out by an official body.
