Chris Halton is Vice President of Strategy & Innovation at Verizon. He leads the team that spearheads the exploration of how to maximize the power and cutting edge technology in Verizon’s global, industry-leading network through new technologies and innovations. His strategic vision and collaboration with industry experts drives the alignment of new technologies with precise business intentions. Specifically, Chris’ team focuses on advancing innovation pillars aimed at introducing new products and services across Web3/NetworkAPI’s, Consumer Home, Industry 4.0, Network & Communications, and Emerging Technologies. Chris’s team also developed and manages a new product innovation framework aligned with Verizon Business Group, as well as an open innovation portal for all of Verizon.
Chris has extensive experience implementing cutting edge technology innovations across large enterprises. His technology portfolio stretches across live broadcasting, sports, web, mobile, and emerging technology platform development.
Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of Media Operations and Technology at the NBA where he developed the Replay Center, Official Video Archive, Virtual Content Factory and High-Speed Arena Network which changed the way the NBA delivers its high-quality video content to consumers, licensees, and partners around the world. Prior to that, he worked at CNBC as Vice President of Technology where he developed the newsroom of the future with a self-service 3D graphic platform, an industry first, and was responsible for building technology powering the cable networks on-air, mobile/web properties and video streaming solution.
