The name of the company comes from Biel, a child with Low vision (LV). LV is a visual impairment 7x more common than complete blindness. Its most disabling effect is the limitation of mobility due to the risk of falls, collisions, and disorientation, which cause dependence and social isolation. At Biel Glasses, we create smart glasses that use spatial computing (3D vision, AI, Galileo and Mixed Reality) to detect mobility risks and to provide accessible safe high-accuracy navigation. It includes other functions such as zoom and image enhancement to provide a complete solution allowing full autonomy for people with LV.
