Information

KOZO KEIKAKU ENGINEERING Inc. (KKE) and Tokyo University of Science are collaboratively developing an open-source-based "Wireless Digital Twin Testbed." This platform is designed to achieve high-fidelity emulation of real-world wireless communications within a virtual environment. By integrating OpenAirInterface (OAI), which provides a full-stack 5G NR implementation, with advanced ray-tracing simulators, KKE has developed a high-speed synchronization mechanism. This allows for real-time, end-to-end emulation based on pre-calculated propagation scenarios.

A key highlight of this testbed is its ability to emulate complex use cases, such as next-generation mobility networks and V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) communication scenarios. By connecting the radio unit and user equipment via cables, the system replicates field-test conditions without emitting radio waves. This enables reproducible verification of mobility-critical environments, where signal conditions change rapidly, directly within a laboratory setting, bypassing the lengthy process of obtaining wireless licenses.

We will demonstrate this testbed’s capabilities, showcasing real-time emulations of mobility scenarios and network performance at Hall 6 Stand 6E54 in the JAPAN Pavilion.
