Multitel is a Belgian non-profit Research & Technology Organisation (RTO) with 25+ years of experience helping industry and academia turn cutting-edge tech into real-world solutions. With over 100 researchers and involvement in 20+ EU projects, Multitel is a trusted partner in European R&D.
We focus on five key areas:
🔹 IoT & Embedded Systems (drones, 4/5G, software-defined radio, EMC/ETSI testing)
🔹 Networks & Cybersecurity (quantum/post-quantum crypto, NIS2, EUCS)
🔹 Applied Photonics (fiber lasers, biophotonics, THz imaging)
🔹 Artificial Intelligence (computer vision, NLP, digital twins, trusted AI)
🔹 Railway Certification (ERTMS/ETCS test systems)
Our multidisciplinary teams co-create impactful prototypes, demonstrators, and systems tailored to partners’ needs across sectors: mobility, health, agri-food, industry 4.0, defense, aerospace, and more.
Founded by the University of Mons and governed by key industrial actors, we bridge research and application—delivering innovation you can trust.
Multitel is also founding member of the Trusted AI Lab (TRAIL) and CyberWal (Walloon Cybersecurity Institute) in Wallonia.
