Amitabh Pandey is a trusted and accomplished leader with over three decades of global, cross-cultural experience across APAC, Europe, and the Americas in the telecommunications and information technology sector. With more than 28 years at Ericsson, he has built a distinguished and comprehensive career, taking on progressively senior leadership roles spanning country and P&L management, sales and key account leadership, commercial and business management, strategy, finance, business development, marketing, project delivery, R&D, training, and operations. Throughout his career, Amitabh has been recognized for sustained excellence and high-impact leadership. He has been inducted into the Ericsson Hall of Fame for winning the Ericsson Global Top Performance of the Year Award on three occasions (2004, 2016, and 2019), a noteworthy distinction reflecting consistent global outperformance. Earlier in his career, he was awarded the prestigious Marcus Wallenberg Scholarship by the Ericsson Board to pursue his M.S. in Telecommunications at the State University of New York (SUNY), selected through intense global competition in 1999. He also received the SUNY President’s Award and the Department of Telecommunications Shield for graduating at the top of the M.S. program with the highest GPA in SUNY’s history. Currently serving as Managing Director & President of Ericsson Sri Lanka & Maldives, Amitabh leads the company’s entire business operations, P&L, and external engagements, including relationships with customers, authorities, and the media across both markets. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Ericsson Telecommunication Lanka Pvt Ltd, providing strategic oversight and governance leadership. Amitabh holds an M.S. in Telecommunications, an MBA, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering. He is an alumnus of State University of New York (USA), Boston University (USA), London Business School (UK), IMD (Switzerland), and INSEAD (Singapore), reflecting a strong academic foundation complemented by global executive education.
