Speaker Bio

Akhil Gokul serves as Head of Technology for the Americas at Ericsson, where he leads efforts to align the company’s technology portfolio with evolving market priorities and to advance the region’s strategic direction for wireless networks. He is a prominent voice on the evolution of 5G and 5G Advanced, the future of 6G, and the critical role of AI, Security and spectrum policy in enabling next-generation services.

Akhil is a strong advocate for open, cloud-native, and AI-driven programmable networks, and he champions innovations that are both standards-aligned and industry-ready. He partners closely with mobile operators, enterprise customers, standards organizations, and ecosystem players to ensure Ericsson remains at the forefront of global wireless development and to accelerate real-world deployments.

With deep expertise across the wireless ecosystem, Akhil has held leadership roles spanning product management, technology strategy, and R&D across both software and hardware. He has been instrumental in driving digital and network transformations for public and private network operators.

Akhil holds a Master of Engineering Management from Dartmouth College and a Bachelor of Engineering from R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore.
