Pablo Moro is Investment Director at Wayra, Telefónica’s Corporate Venture Capital arm, where he leads global investments. He manages a portfolio of +200 startups across Europe, Latin America and U.S… Previously, he served as Investment Director at Telefónica Ventures, overseeing more than 40 growth- stage investments and commitments in 14 venture capital funds, before the fund was integrated into Wayra in 2023.
Earlier at Wayra, Pablo focused on driving partnerships between its portfolio startups and Telefónica, creating business synergies with measurable P&L impact. He also managed key accounts at Telefónica Spain. Before that, he was Director of Innovation at Mutua Madrileña, one of Spain’s leading insurers (€5B+ revenues), where he built its open innovation strategy from the ground up, leveraging startup and VC fund investments.
Pablo holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Valladolid (Spain) and Buckinghamshire University (UK), as well as an MBA from IE Business School, where he also teaches. He completed executive studies in Venture Capital at UC Berkeley and was recognized by the Choiseul Institute as one of Spain’s Economic Leaders of Tomorrow in 2016 and 2017.
