Robert Joyce is the Director of Mobile Access Engineering at Virgin Media O2, leads the team responsible for the planning, delivery and optimisation of the O2 Mobile Network.
Robert has over 30 years of industry experience in Mobile Telecommunications having worked for a number of operators and vendors around the globe. Notable projects that Robert has been involved with include designing the network for the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar and launching the World’s first 5G Network in 2018 also in Qatar.
He has published numerous academic papers on mobile communications, holds a PhD in “Self Organising Mobile Networks” and serves as a Visiting Professor at the University of Surrey.
