Jangwoo Kim

Speaker Bio

Jangwoo Kim is the CEO and founder of MangoBoost, a startup company located in Seattle and Seoul. MangoBoost provides extremely smart, fast, and flexible networking cards called Data Processing Unit (DPU), and the world's most cost-effective GPU and SSD servers powered by the DPUs, and thus maximize the efficiency of modern AI datacenters.

Jangwoo is also a full professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Seoul National University. His research interests focus on computer system architecture and modeling. He earned his PhD degree from Carnegie Mellon University, and his BS and M.Eng degrees from Cornell University.

Prior to his current career, Jangwoo worked as a CPU/system architect at Sun Microsystems and Oracle to develop UltraSPARC T4 CPUs and servers. He has published 50+ papers to top-tier computer architecture and system venues (e.g, ISCA, MICRO, ASPLOS, HPCA, OSDI, ATC), and been inducted into ISCA Hall of Fame and MICRO Hall of Fame.
