Speaker Bio

SG Chung is the CTO and Head of the AI CIC at SK Telecom (SKT). A seasoned IT executive with a distinguished career in technology and telecommunications, he oversees the company’s AI strategy and global expansion.

SG spearheads the government-led sovereign foundation model initiative, driving the development and advancement of SKT’s proprietary foundation models to enhance AI competitiveness and reinforce national AI sovereignty. At the same time, he leads SKT’s AI DC initiatives, developing next-generation AI infrastructure to support large-scale AI workloads and the expansion of AI B2B and B2C services.

He has also been a driving force behind the founding of the Global Telco AI Alliance (GTAA), fostering AI innovation through global telco collaboration to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency across the industry. He also co-leads SK Telecom Americas, further strengthening SKT’s international presence.

Prior to his role at SKT, SG headed Naver’s Clova CIC as CEO, overseeing enterprise AI services and business strategies in South Korea and Japan. He also played an instrumental role in applying Naver's large-scale AI, "HyperCLOVA," to various services and sectors.

SG holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from KAIST and an MBA from Georgetown University.
