Chris Madan is a seasoned business and technology executive driving Canada's AI infrastructure revolution and championing digital sovereignty as a cornerstone of national competitiveness.
As VP of Customer Digital Solutions & Product at TELUS, Chris leads the dynamic team spearheading next-generation digital products and services that transform how Canadians connect, work, and live. He led the development and launch of TELUS Sovereign AI Factories – Canada’s first fully sovereign AI infrastructure and recognized as Canada's fastest and most powerful supercomputer on the global TOP500 list – delivering the project from concept to operational in just nine months.
An influential voice on sovereign AI and digital independence, Chris speaks regularly at industry forums, government events and international conferences on how nations can build AI capabilities without foreign dependencies while maintaining cutting-edge performance and sustainability.
Prior to joining TELUS, Chris held a number of executive positions at CIBC, including VP of Digital Marketing where he managed over $100 million in media investment and drove digital transformation initiatives at one of Canada's largest financial institutions.
Chris is a connector and champion of high-performing teams, and has chaired diversity initiatives and built organizations focused on innovation and inclusion. He has served on a number of non-for-profit boards, holds professional designations in accounting and marketing, and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
Outside of work, Chris is a devoted father to two daughters, an NBA couch expert, and an avid cricket player spending weekends at pitches across the Greater Toronto Region.
