As the CEO and President of LG Uplus, Bumshik Hong is leading the South Korean telecommunications service provider into a new era of innovation. By redefining the foundation of telecommunications, he is leading an AI business strategy dedicated to enhancing and innovating customers’ daily lives.

Guided by a people-first philosophy, he established the “4A” AI framework: Assured, Adaptive, Accompanied, and Altruistic. It envisions AI that can be trusted by everyone, adapts to individuals, and accompanies people through daily life.

At MWC 2026, he will share the value of “Humanizing Every Connection” and declare the dawn of human-centric AI call agents. He is leading the efforts to bring the world’s attention back to the power of voice, the most fundamental medium for human communication. He believes that while data communicates, voice connects people, marking a bold step toward the future.

He is a seasoned strategist with over 20 years of experience in business strategy and digtial innovation.

Prior to LG Uplus, he was the Chief Strategy & Investment Officer and President at LG Corp.
His industry insights and extensive expertise are guiding LG Uplus’s evolution into a Software-driven, AI-centered solution company.

He holds a Master of Business Administration(MBA) and a Master of International Affairs(MIA) from
Columbia University. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
