David Fattal

Speaker Bio

David Fattal is the Co-Founder and CTO of Leia Inc., the leader in glasses-free 3D display technology for personal devices. At Leia, he has led the development of 3D switchable displays and real-time 2D-to-3D AI software, launching commercial products with Samsung, Acer, ZTE, and others. He also spearheaded the creation of Immersity AI, Leia's web-based 2D-to-3D conversion platform, now used by over 4 million people.

Prior to founding Leia, David spent nearly a decade at HP Labs working on quantum computing and nanophotonics. His work there led to the invention of diffractive lightfield backlighting, a breakthrough that made the cover of Nature and became the foundation for Leia’s original 3D displays.

He holds a PhD in Physics from Stanford University and a BS from École Polytechnique. He has authored over 200 patents, co-authored the textbook *Single Photon Devices and Applications*, and received the French National Order of Merit. In 2024, he was named a finalist for the European Inventor Award for his contributions to 3D display technology.
