Dr. Lei Fang

Speaker Bio

Dr. Lei Fang is Chairman of DataCanvas, a member of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, Beijing Outstanding Engineer, and Zhongguancun High-end Leading Talent. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University and a doctoral degree from Virginia Tech.

Previously, he worked as a Data Scientist at Microsoft Bing’s Search Division and was an early team member on the development of Microsoft’s cloud computing platform, Windows Azure.Upon returning to China, he founded DataCanvas Limited, focusing on AI infrastructure and intelligent computing cloud services. The company has achieved large-scale implementation in over ten key industries undergoing intelligent transformation, including government, finance, telecommunications, and manufacturing.

Dr. Fang has published 21 papers in fields such as distributed systems, design verification, and cutting-edge algorithms, which are included in top-tier AI conferences like ICLR. He holds 55 authorized domestic and international patents covering areas such as large models, AI platforms, causal learning, automated machine learning, and big data.

As a core technical expert, he has participated in formulating multiple national and international standards for AI in China, including the country’s first industry standard Functional Requirements for Artificial Intelligence Development Platform Systems. Additionally, as an AI expert in China, he contributed to compiling the Blue Book China FinTech Development Report (2021) published by the People’s Bank of China.

Currently, he serves as Executive Director of the China Cloud Ecosystem Industry Innovation Strategic Alliance, Think Tank Expert of the FinTech Innovation Alliance, Member of the Standards Professional Committee of the Zhongguancun FinTech Industry Development Alliance, Director of the Zhongguancun Digital Intelligence Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance, and Member of the Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence Key Technology and Application Evaluation of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
