Martin Smillie runs SITA’s Communications Services Business Unit and is a senior technology leader within the company. His core focus on the development and implementation of SITA’s strategy to deliver next‑generation digital and communications solutions across the air transport industry and beyond. Since joining in 2021, he has led major advancements in cloud, IoT, 5G, SDN, SASE, and omnichannel platforms, enabling SITA’s customers to optimize operations and elevate the passenger experience.


With over 25 years of global experience in IT and telecom, Martin previously held senior roles at TDC Group, Verizon, BT Global Services, and Huawei. His expertise spans network transformation, cybersecurity, and enterprise innovation, positioning him as a key voice on the future of connected aviation.
