Speaker Bio
After serving on Telstra Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC) in 2024, Aieshewarrya Kapoor was appointed as Telstra Foundation's inaugural Youth-in-Residence for 2026, a new advocacy focussed role for the YAC. Aieshewarrya is a second-year Psychology student with a background in data science and youth advocacy, whose academic interests centre on the socio-technical ecosystem and its ethical implications for contemporary and future societies. In her postgraduate studies, Aieshewarrya aims to examine how digital platforms and emerging technologies shape young people’s wellbeing, agency, and participation within a hyper-connected world.
In her work with Telstra Foundation, Aieshewarrya contributes youth-informed perspectives to Australia-wide discourse on digital inclusion, online safety, and the role of technology as a force for good. Informed by this advisory experience, she is deeply committed to fostering impactful conversations for youth engagement that move beyond tokenistic consultation and toward co-design, shared accountability, and sustained partnership between young people and industry.
