Miguel Arias is a Spanish venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and innovation executive with over 20 years of experience building, scaling, and investing in technology companies. He is a General Partner at K Fund, where he leads Leadwind, a $250M early growth fund backing technology-enabled scale-ups across Southern Europe and Latin America.
Previously, Miguel was Global Director of Entrepreneurship at Telefónica, where he led the company’s open innovation strategy through Wayra and Open Future, connecting Telefónica with startup ecosystems worldwide. He also served as COO of CARTO, a geospatial intelligence SaaS company, helping scale the business internationally and raise more than $100M from leading global investors. Earlier in his career, he co-founded IMASTE, a webcasting and virtual events company later acquired by ON24 (NASDAQ: ONTF).
Beyond his operating and investment roles, Miguel is an active voice on entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership. He writes at emprenderagolpes.com, hosts the podcast Close & Personal, co-founded the Chamberí Valley founders’ community, and teaches entrepreneurship at IE Business School and ISDI.
