Akira Shimada

Akira Shimada is President and Chief Executive Officer, Representative Member of the Board of NTT, Inc.

Akira joined NTT in 1981 after graduating from Hitotsubashi University with a B.A in Commerce and Management.

Throughout his career he has been engaged in various roles at NTT, including enterprise sales, global network service development, finance and accounting, human resources management, and corporate strategy planning and implementation.

Akira became Senior Vice President and Head of General Affairs of NTT in 2012, and Chief Financial Officer of NTT in June 2018. He was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of NTT in June 2022.
