Session Description

Join us for an exclusive roundtable to discover the challenges and learnings and explore the cutting-edge advancements from the first Post Quantum algorithm implementations in the telco ecosystem. This is a fantastic opportunity to see firsthand demos of how the telco industry overcomes the challenges while the operators and mobile vendors are taking the first trials on the implementation of PQC algorithms in key telco use cases. In addition, we will explore new opportunities coming from those implementations.

Demo title: Industry’s first post-Quantum In-Factory Profile Provisioning (IFPP), Digicert

Synposis: In collaboration, IDEMIA Secure Transactions, Acceleronix, and Tele2 IoT, are driving innovation with Industry’s first post-Quantum In-Factory Profile Provisioning (IFPP). This solution allows OEMs to securely load subscriptions directly in their factories, enabling a true single-SKU strategy, saving battery power on low-power IoT devices, and removing the need for complex MNO integrations. Built on the SGP.41 architecture and quantum-safe by design, the IFPP solution streamlines manufacturing and delivers simple, secure, out-of-the-box connectivity for the massive IoT era.

Demo title: Enabling Multiple key exchanges on post-quantum IPsec protocol of telecom network - presented by Lun Li, Senior Engineer, Huawei

Synposis: IPsec protocol provides encryption, authentication, data integrity for IP-layer communications in telecom system and it is used for securing connections such as those for the access network, security gateway and user plane. IPsec is rely on public-key algorithms which may be vulnerable to quantum computing attacks. In this showcase, we will demonstrate the establishment of a post-quantum secure IPsec through multiple key exchanges in the IKE (Internet Key Exchange) stage. The demonstration will focus on the algorithm negotiation and the exchange of keying material based on post-quantum algorithms between entities. Additionally, we will explain some industry best practices for selecting and configuring appropriate algorithms in telecom entities based on current specification.

Demo title: Securing the future Internet of Things with ML-KEM and ML-DSA - presented by Kevin Hilscher, Senior Director of Product Management, DigiCert, Inc.

Synposis: Today’s Internet of Things (IoT) relies on a variety of protocols and communications technologies…LTE-M, NB-IoT, Wi-Fi, … many of which are not quantum-safe. While large-scale quantum computers capable of breaking current encryption aren’t yet available, the concept of “harvest now, decrypt later” is a significant concern. Now that NIST has released final versions of its first three Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) standards the race is on to make IoT quantum-safe. In this session we will explore: 1) what is takes to make an MQTT-based IoT solution quantum safe and 2) Implement and transit data between an IoT device and an MQTT broker using MQTT, TLS 1.3, ML-KEM and ML-DSA.

If you are interested in learn more about how Post Quantum Cryptography readiness by telco, standarisation and migration strategies to secure future quantum safe, please register the 8th Post Quantum Network Seminar.
