The Spanish Red Cross, founded in 1864, is a humanitarian and voluntary institution that forms part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Its mission is to alleviate human suffering and protect the lives and health of vulnerable people, guided by the principles of humanity, impartiality, and neutrality.
The Spanish Red Cross responds to emergencies, supports vulnerable people through social programs, promotes health and environmental care, encourages employment and education, and carries out all these activities thanks to its volunteers.
