BTRY is a spin-off from ETH Zürich and Empa developing ultra-thin solid-state batteries that operate reliably from –40 to 150 °C, delivering reliable performance where conventional lithium-ion cells fail, swell, or even explode. With a thickness of just 0.2 mm, BTRY’s batteries charge and discharge in one minute and can directly power wireless transmissions without external capacitors. Their solid-state architecture is intrinsically safe, non-flammable, and resistant to mechanical and thermal stress. Designed for seamless integration into compact devices, BTRY enables new possibilities in consumer electronics, IoT, and MedTech – where safety, speed, and durability are critical.
