Biocat is a strategic stakeholder and catalyst for promoting, transforming and projecting the Catalan life sciences and health innovation ecosystem, known as the BioRegion of Catalonia.
Established in 2006 by the Government of Catalonia and Barcelona City Council, it is a public-private foundation whose aim is to identify the needs of the BioRegion and implement a strategy to maximize the economic and social impact of the sector. Biocat's strategy centers on:
- Accelerating technology transfer and business growth
- Projecting the ecosystem
- Fostering the innovative capacities and development of entrepreneurial and research talent
- Connecting stakeholders in the ecosystem
