6 March 2025, Barcelona – Smart Axiata has taken a significant step towards strengthening Cambodia’s digital economy by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at MWC25 Barcelona to collaborate on the deployment of federated CAMARA APIs alongside two other telecom companies.
This partnership, under the GSMA Open Gateway initiative, aims to enhance digital security, combat fraud, enhance identify verification, and foster seamless integration of digital services across networks.
Beyond developing technology and leveraging 5G network resources, the GSMA Open Gateway initiative focuses on creating a seamless ecosystem that connects enterprise developers, system integrators, and global network - delivering new value to both end customers and the businesses providing these services.
GSMA Open Gateway provides universal network Application Programmable Interfaces (APIs), giving enterprise developers direct access to operator networks and accelerating digital service innovation. CAMARA, an open-source project from the Linux Foundation in partnership with TM Forum and GSMA, standardizes these APIs across networks, enabling easier and more scalable integration for businesses.
