Speaker Bio
Soheib is the Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Senior Policy Manager at the GSMA based in London. He is an experienced technologist focused on the potential role of the mobile industry in DPI, an approach to transform countries at scale via interoperable digital identity, digital payments, and data exchange systems.
Prior to joining the GSMA, Soheib was a GovTech Specialist at the International Monetary Fund, where he delivered over the years numerous IMF Technical Assistance and Capacity Development requests of member countries primarily on digital transformation of ministries of finance, and on central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). He has worked extensively with likeminded international organizations, central banks, ministries of finance, and key stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
Soheib possesses a MPA in Development, Technology and Innovation Policy from University College London, a BSc (Hons) in Management and Information Technology from Lancaster University, and an Executive Certificate in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, with specializations in artificial intelligence, digital transformation of governments, and cybersecurity. He spends his spare time as a Fellow at The Digital Economist, where he collaborates with academia and other think-tanks on DPI developments.
