Matt Scott is co-founder and CTO of Malong Technologies, a VC-backed, award-winning artificial intelligence startup. The company produces leading computer vision technologies for the retail industry globally. He has 15+ years R&D experience in computer vision and machine learning.
Matt is a Senior Member of the IEEE (SMIEEE), has published 100+ patents, and 20+ research papers in the world’s top scientific conferences and journals. At CVPR 2017, Matt and his team won first place by a wide margin in the WebVision Challenge, an international computer vision competition from Google Research.
In 2014, Matt co-founded Malong Technologies with CEO Dinglong Huang. The company now has 150+ employees and completed its B+ round, invested by Accenture and Softbank China. Matt leads the company's R&D efforts creating state-of-the-art computer vision technology and products.
Prior to Malong, he was at Microsoft for 10 years, working at Microsoft Research as an R&D lead on computer vision, machine learning, and NLP. In 2018, Matt won Fast Company’s MCP100 award for being one of the 100 most creative people in business in China. His work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The New York Times, and The Discovery Channel, among other outlets.
