Ken has been at Google since 2008. His day job is as a Director in Google’s legal department, where he leads a team of attorneys and contract managers responsible for global product development and all commercial transactions in North America for Google’s search advertising business and related infrastructure. In 2016, Ken initiated a project for himself to combine his expertise in tech law and his interests in AI/ML, which coincided nicely with Google’s stated transition from a “mobile first” to an “AI first” company.
Ken co-lead drafting of Google’s product counsel checklist on AI/ML and has led numerous internal trainings on the topic. He was also part of the core group that drafted Google’s AI Principles. Ken is now an active participant on the Responsible Innovation team — receiving, routing, and framing AI Principles issues for the Google Council and its advisors.
