2018 was the year of privacy, notable for the stance against world leading content and service providers for their approach to data privacy protections. The introduction of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe has revolutionised industry, by giving control back to the consumer and forcing conglomerates to rethink their strategies. Now, twelve months on, has the European framework had its intended effect? This session will explore the impact GDPR is having across the world and, with the expanding digital ecosystem, are we are still at risk of losing consumer trust?
