About this Award

GSMA’s Outstanding Contribution to the Mobile Industry Award annually recognises outstanding achievement in the mobile industry. The award honours individual or organisational achievements for technology advancements that are shaping the mobile sector, as we know it today.

This discretionary award is a personal honour for the recipient who is chosen by the GSMA alone. The category is NOT open for entry.

About this Category

The GSMA’s Women4Tech programme focusses on successfully addressing the gender gap that exists within the mobile and technology industries. Through a range of events and interactive workshops, Women4Tech aims to drive awareness, showcase strategies and commit participation from the industry to reducing the gender gap within the telecoms and tech industry workforce. This supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 5: “to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls”.

This exclusive Women4Tech Award recognises and celebrates leadership in the establishment of initiatives by people or companies within the industry to encourage and retain women and girls in the telecommunications industry or in the larger mobile entrepreneurial ecosystem.

About this Award

25 years ago, no one could comprehend the power of the mobile phone and the true power of connectivity.

Not just in processing speed, power and size, like the fact that the processing power of the Computer that placed humankind on the moon (the Apollo Guidance Computer) is now equivalent to a pair of Nintendo consoles! But how the mobile phone has changed people and our relationship with one another.

The 25 Years of Connecting People Award, introduced in 2020 to honor 25 Years of the Global Mobile Awards, recognizes the early pioneer, on whose shoulders the digital industry now stands on.
This discretionary award is a personal honour for the recipient who is chosen by the Global Mobile Award 2020 Judges and verified by the GSMA Board.

The top 5 popular names will be put to the GSMA Board for a vote
